PhotonClean:

Laser Cleaning Machines with Proven reliability

PhotonBlaster: the most powerful portable waterproof "rustblaster"

No water cooling - No air cooling! 100% Duty at -30°C to 60°C - 24/7

Extreme Environment Resistant - Proven Performance

Only refrigerant-cooled system that handles extreme temperatures.

Tested in high-heat and sub-zero conditions. Built for the toughest job sites.

PhotonBlaster's Core Heavy-Duty Cleaning Scenarios

  • RUST REMOVAL: Remove iron oxide, rust layer & mill scale to restore metal substrate.

  • PAINT STRIPPING: Strip aged/failed coating, prepare qualified surface for re-painting.

  • DEGREASING: Eliminate processing oil, grease and surface contaminants to guarantee downstream-process quality.

  • PRE-/POST-WELD: Clean weld-seam oxide, contaminants, and weld-slag residue.

6 evaluation criteria for heavy-industry customer selection:

  • Processing efficiency

  • Surface quality

  • Labor dependency

  • Waste management

  • Site adaptability

  • Long-term cost

Seven Major Heavy-Industry Target Sectors

Shipbuilding & Repair

Large-area corrosion on hull plate, deck & weld seam. Cannot enter blast booth; dry dock charged by day.

Construction Machinery

Bucket/ boom heavy-rust & aged-paint refurbishment, mostly operated at outdoor job-site.

Steel-Structure

H-beam / box-girder pre-weld rust removal & post-weld spatter cleaning, tight project schedule.

Rail Transit

Bogie & axle high-precision components; zero substrate damage, narrow maintenance outage window.

Petro-Chemical

Storage tank, pipe & pressure-vessel pre-hot-work cleaning under rust-bearing running status.

Heavy-Duty Equipment

Motor housing & heavy machinery on-site refurbishment: localized precision rust-paint removal.

Tactical support and defence Equipment

Tactical vehicles - defence vehicles - security vehicles - support vehicles

Continuous-wave: higher heat, higher output, faster speed

Laser Cleaning: Pulsed or CW?

A continuous-wave (CW) laser beam is continuous and stable, so heat can conduct into the substrate, and the heat-affected zone is always larger than with pulsed cleaning. This higher heat can eventually cause deformation, oxidation, annealing, make carbon come free, or other loss of performance, particularly on heat-sensitive materials.

We present CW as the high-heat, high-output route for robust metal and suitable tough mineral or concrete surfaces, typically where the surface is being prepared for a coating, repaint or other finishing afterwards.

We do not recommend it for delicate, heat-sensitive, or high-value finished substrates: pulsed remains the controlled, substrate-protective route for precision work, tooling, components, and anything where heat input matters.

A CW laser is more dangerous for the eyes as well as the continuous power is much higher than a Pulsed laser.

Conventional Surface-Preparation Comparison

Laser cleaning versus ....

Process

Strengths

Drawbacks

Manual Grinding

Flexible for small-spot local repair

Heavy labor, inconsistent finish, risk of substrate gouging

Sand / Shot Blasting

High area throughput, mature process

Abrasive consumption, dust & hazardous waste; cannot process immovable large assets

High-pressure Water

Low dust, robot-compatible

Water & wastewater handling; flash-rust; high-pressure safety risk

Chemical Cleaning

Effective for certain contaminant categories

Chemical storage & PPE; waste-liquid treatment; material-compatibility constraints

Laser Cleaning

Non-contact, zero-abrasive, portable on-site, fully-parameter-driven

Higher CAPEX; must select matching power & process recipe
